1st SAARC Chess Championship begins tomorrow
DHAKA, Nov 23, 2019 (BSS)- The 1st SAARC Chess Championship open and women’s Championships begins tomorrow (Sunday) at Hotel Fars and Resort in the city with seven SAARC countries will compete in the championship
The seven countries are India, Afghanistan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and host Bangladesh.
Near about hundred players from Bangladesh including grand master, international master Fide master woman’s fide master will take part in the meet, organized by Bangladesh Chess federation in financial assistance of Rosatom of Russia Saif Powertec Limited, Max Group, Rupayon Group and Al Arafah Islami Bank Limited.
The estimated budget of the championship is Taka 88,00,000.00 to run the championship.
In this regards, a pres s conference was held on Saturday at conference room of National Sports Council to provide all the details of the meet.
