BTB for creating tourist guides skilled in different languages

DHAKA, June 3, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) decided to
create more tourist guides skilled in different languages to serve the
foreign travelers who are coming here for leisure in more convenient way.

The BTB has taken the initiatives considering huge scarcity of skilled
tourist guides in foreign languages especially Chinese, Japanese and Korean
while there are also huge demands of guides fluent in Spanish, French,
Italian and Arabic languages.

This was revealed today at the concluding ceremony of a foreign language
based tourist guide training programme at Institute of Modern Language (IML)
of Dhaka University here.

In collaboration of the IML, the BTB conducted the training programme for
84 students of the institute in seven languages – Chinese, Japanese, Korean,
Spanish, French, Italian and Arabic.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary M Mohibul Haque handed over the
certificates among the students while Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC)
Chairman Akhtaruzzaman Khan Kabir and Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of
BTB Nikhil Ranjan Roy were present.

Dhaka University’s Tourism and Hospitality Management Department Chairman
Professor Dr M Badruzzaman Bhuiyan and IML acting director Sultan Ahmed also
spoke on the occasion.
