Business-friendly security taken ahead of Eid: DMP Commissioner

DHAKA, June 03, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said here today they have taken business friendly security arrangements ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the largest festivals of the Muslim community.

“We, police and businessmen, have collectively taken business friendly security measures to ensure peaceful and hassle free Eid shopping,” he said after visiting New Market area to oversee the security arrangements here ahead of the Eid.

“Police patrol has already been increased in the DMP areas to check crimes such as snatching and mugging,” he said, adding that they have yet to receive any allegation of stealing and snatching.

The commissioner inquired shop owners and customers about the overall security arrangements and they have expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements.

Speaking about the drives against drugs, he said, “No hideout of drug trading will remain inside the DMP areas as all of those will be demolished in the on-going drives as per ‘zero tolerance policy’ announced by the Prime Minister.”

He also said, “We are sincere enough so that no innocent person could fall in danger due to the on-going drive.”

The commissioner accompanied with high officials of DMP later visited Bashundhara Shopping Mall and talked with businessmen and customers about the security arrangements.
