Two-day Jibananda poetry fair begins in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Nov 22, 2019 (BSS) – A two-day ‘Jibananda Poetry Fair- 2019’
began on Shah Makhdum Degree College premises in the city today.

Kabikunja, a literary organisation, is hosting the fair creating an
assembling place of many poets and literary cultural personalities from
various parts of the country.

Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton addressed the
opening ceremony as the chief guest while Poet Makid Haider addressed it as
focal person with Kabikunja President Prof Ruhul Amin Pramanik in the chair.

Member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Abdul Mannan, Prof Hassan
Azizul Haque, Rabindra Researcher Prof Sanat Kumar Shaha and Poet and
Researcher Prof Tasiqul Islam Raja also spoke on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Liton said contribution of the literary
and cultural personalities is very significant to the nation-building
activities.

He told the audience that the present government is working relentlessly
to this end.

Liton also underscored the need for boosting literary and cultural
practices to make society beautiful. Successful promotion of cultural message
could be vital means of keeping the younger generation away from various
unsocial activities, he added.
