Speaker seeks expatiates’ support to achieve middle-income status
DHAKA, June 3, 2018 (BSS) – Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has
urged Bangladeshi expatriates to be united to help the country achieve the
status of middle-income nation.
“At present, Bangladesh is a role model of development in the world and
we will elevate the status of middle-income country soon…so be united to
play an important role for the country’s development,” she said.
The Speaker was addressing a discussion followed by iftar arranged by
France Awami League (AL) in Paris yesterday, said an official release here
today.
Bangladesh has already fulfilled all the conditions required to attain
middle-income status, she said.
Dr Chaudhury also urged the AL leaders of France to be organised
following the ideal of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman.
Bangladesh Ambassador in Paris Kazi Imtiaz Hossain and expatiate AL
leaders and businessmen were present on the occasion.
