Hasan urges CU alumni to work for country’s welfare
CHATTOGRAM, Nov 22, 2019 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today urged the alumni of Chattogram University (CU) to work from their respective positions for the betterment of the country.
He was speaking at a reunion of Chattogram University Alumni Association (CUAA) marking the ‘University Day’ at GEC Convention Centre here.
The minister said the CU possesses extraordinary scenic beauty which is very rare in other universities of the world.
“I got the opportunity to visit many universities in the world. Very few universities are as beautiful as the Chattogram University,” he added.
Chattogram University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhter, Chattogram University Alumni Association President Abdul Karim and General Secretary Mahbubul Alam were present on the occasion, among others.
Hasan, also a former student of Chemistry Department of CU, urged the alumni association to arrange its next reunion on the university campus.
He said the reunion brought opportunity for the former students of the university to visit the memory lane of the university life by getting together.
Recalling memories of his university life, the minister said he stayed in Chattogram city when he studied at the university but he also used to stay at a university dorm for two months before examinations.
“I used to go to the university by train. Many of my classmates are here today. We used to sing songs loudly during our train journeys,” he recalled.
