Archive on Bangabandhu in the offing during his birth centenary
DHAKA, Nov 21, 2019 (BSS) – Seizing the opportunity of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s year-long birth centenary celebration, an archive on life and works of Bangabandhu will be set up.
In this regard, a meeting of the Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee was held at its office at International Mother Language Institute (IMLI) conference room here.
Committee’s Chief Coordinator Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury chaired the meeting.
He said documentaries, rare speeches of Bangabandhu, photographs, published reports, books, songs, poems and other data in this regard will be collected from government and non-government organizations, national and international media outlets and individuals to create the archive for the next generation.
The archive will be set up under the supervision of media cell of Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee.
Director General of Department of Archives and Library and convener of the archive making committee Farid Ahmed Bhuiyan, Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Director General Zafar Wazed, IMLI Director General Professor Dr Jinnat Imtiaz Ali and representatives of Cultural Affairs Ministry, Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Film Achieve and National Museum were present on the occasion.
