KHULNA, Nov 21, 2019 (BSS)-The week-long tax fair ended here yesterday amid
huge participation of taxpayers enabling the National Board of Revenue (NBR)
to collect a record amount of over TK 57 core taxes in Khulna Zone.
This year, a total of 52,227 taxpayers submitted their income tax returns
through 10 districts and four upazilas in Khulna division .
Some 97,565 people have received services related income tax payment
facilities while 2,460 people have opened up Electronic Tax
Identification Number (E-TIN) in the fair .
A closing ceremony was held last night at the fair premises , Boyra where
Commissioner of Tax Appellate Division in Khulna Mohammad . Rafiqul Islam
Chowdhury attended as chief guest.
Chaired by Commissioner of Khulna Tax Zone Proshanto Kumar Roy, the function
was addressed, among others, by President of Bangladesh Taxes Lawyers
Association Monirul Huda, Additional Income Tax Commissioner Dr. Anjon Kumar
Sah and Joint Tax Commissioner Mohammad Monjur Alam .
Proshanta Kumar Roy, Commissioner of Khulna Income Tax Zone said the tax
fair gained popularity as it opened up an opportunity for the people to
submit their income tax returns at the quickest possible time and without
visiting any tax offices.
