CHATTOGRAM Nov 20, 2019 (BSS) – Salt Owners Association started open market sale of salt at Tk.15 per kg in city areas through mobile vans.
The open market sale of salt started from 1 pm in front of Chattogram Press club.
General Secretary of Salt Owners Samity Motar Hossain told BSS that following the unnecessary rumour on shortage of salt, we have launched open sale of salt through mobile vans in different areas of the city from today which will continue until further announcement.
He said a vested quarter in the country began propaganda about the price spiral of salt through different ways like social media and local rumours aimed at undermining the images of the govt.
In spite of exiting huge stocks of salt in the country a vested quarters has spread rumour of price hike of salt in the country through social media.
To resist the rumours by the vested quarters, Salt Owners Association started open market sale of salt at Tk.15 per kg from today.
Meanwhile, City Mayor and the deputy commissioner of Chattogram separately utter cautions against the rumours and exemplary punishment to the persons involved with the spreading of the rumour will be dealt with exemplary punishment.
