Archery team off to Thailand tomorrow

DHAKA, Nov 20, 2019 (BSS) – A 19-member of Bangladesh archery team, including fifteen archers, leave for Thailand tomorrow (Thursday) to participate in the 21st Asian Archery Championship scheduled to be held in Bangkok from November 23-28.

The archery team comprised with eight recurve archers and seven compound archers. The archers are going to take part in the championship as a part of preparation for the Bangladesh team’s 13th South Asian (SA) Games assignment in December.

The team will return from Thailand on November 29 and will leave for the SA Games in Nepal on December 3 to compete in ten events. One more archer, Suma Biswas of compound event, will join the SA Games team after skipping the Asian Championship.

Archery team: Ruman Sana, Hakim Ahmed Rubel, Tamimul Islam and Sakib Mollah (recurve archer mean’s), Ety Khatun, Mejnaz Akter Monira, Beauty Roy, Nasrin Akter (recurve archer women’s), Asim Kumar Das, Sohel Rana, Ashikuzzaman and Siyam Siddique (compound archer men’s), Susmita Bonik, Bonna Akter, Shamoly Roy and Suma Biswash (compound archer women’s).

Stand byes archers – Prodipto Chakma (recurve archer man’s), Diya Siddique (recurve archer woman’s), Milon Mollah (compound archer man’s) and Lamia Islam (compound archer woman’s).
