Drug trafficker gets life term in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Nov 19, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced a person to
suffer life term imprisonment for possessing heroin in Godagari upazila of
the district in 2015.
The convict, Abdul Latif, 70, was also fined Taka 10,000, in default, to
suffer five months more behind the bar.
Additional District and Session Judge Emdadul Haque found the accused
guilty and pronounced the verdict in his presence this noon.
According to the prosecution police arrested Abdul Latif with 2.4
kilograms of heroin from Madarpur area under Godagari upazila on April 26,
2015.
After investigation, police pressed charges against him. Advocate
Shariful Islam conducted the case on behalf of the state while Advocate
Nazmul Haque Minut defended the accused.
