Khulna AL leaders take technological training

DHAKA, Nov 18, 2019 (BSS) – With a view to enhancing technological skills of the grassroots leaders and workers and making them more active in party activities, the ruling Awami League (AL) today organized a divisional workshop in Khulna.

The workshop titled “Social Media in Enhancing Work Efficiency” was arranged under the auspices of AL’s Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) auditorium, said a press release here.

Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque addressed the workshop as the chief guest while KUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Kazi Sajjad Hossain attended it as the special guests.

AL Advisory Council Member and Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee Chairman Prof Dr Md Hossain Mansur presided over the function while AL Science and Technology Affairs Secretary and the sub-committee’s Member Secretary Engineer Md Abdus Sobur delivered welcome address.

Professor Engineer Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, Chairman of Computer Engineering Divisional Committee of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) delivered his speech on “Impacts of Social Media in Future Learning” in the workshop while IT expert and member of AL Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee Sufi Faruq talked on “Using Social Media for Campaigning”.

Coordinator of Centre for Research and Information (CRI) and member of the sub-committee Engineer Tonmoy Ahmed discussed on “Presence of Bangladesh Awami League in Social Media” in the workshop. Sub-Committee member Engineer Ranak Ahsan moderated the function.

Speaking on the occasion, the KCC mayor said the government has made an outstanding development in information and communication technology to turn the country into a Digital Bangladesh.

But now a vested quarter is out to spread rumors in social media particularly facebook to propagate ill-campaign for inciting unwanted incidents, he added.

He urged the leaders and workers to remain alert so that none can resort to wrongdoings spreading rumors on facebook.

Engineer Md Abdus Sobur said due to lack of awareness, some social media users make mistakes. Capitalizing on those mistakes, the anti-liberation force BNP-Jamaat spread rumors to harm the social harmony, he added.

On October 6 last, the AL sub-committee arranged the Dhaka divisional workshop at IEB auditorium.

In continuation to that, the AL sub-committee in association with AL research wing Centre for Research and Information (CRI) arranged the workshop for leaders and workers of Khulna division.

Such workshops will be arranged in other divisions also. The workshops will bring all grassroots leaders and workers of the party under a common platform and will link the party activities with digital platforms.
