India doesn’t expect Bangladesh to loss inside three days
INDORE, Nov 16, 2019 (BSS)- The team India didn’t expect Bangladesh to loss the first Test in Indore inside three days as they believe the visitor’s decision to bat first in the spicy surface backfired.
Bangladesh were bowled out for 150 after opting to bat first and let India pile a host of misery on them. India declared their first innings on 493-6, with 407 runs came on day two itself.
Their murderous batting on day two, led by Mayank Agarwal’s epic 243 made it sure that the match would see an early finish.
Despite four wickets remaining, India decided not to bat on day three and declared the innings with 343 runs lead.
The recent performance of Bangladesh however indicated that they won’t survive a day against this kind of bowling line up which is considered as No.1 at this moment.
Bangladesh actually needed to produce some kind of stubborn performance to take the match to the fourth day but such was India’s bowling and their own reckless batting that they were bundled out for 213 in second innings to taste an innings and 130-run margin defeat.
India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour said that the early finish of the match was beyond their imagination but he held Bangladesh responsible for that.
“About finishing in three days – that can’t be predicted. Even Bangladesh is a pretty decent team,” he said.
“Our bowling was very good. I think the decision of them batting first didn’t work in their favour. So that helped and the match ended up finishing in three days. We were not really expecting that.”
India was in early trouble on day two when Abu Jayed Rahi dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara and captain Virat Kohli in quick succession. It seemed India’s run flow would stalled but Mayank Agarwal and Ajinkya Rahane put the side back on track.
Agarwal’s sustained aggression however was the reason that India piled up huge runs on day two to ensure a quick finish of the game.
Rathour therefore has special praise for Agarwal as he stated: “If he keeps making runs, it’ll be advantageous for him. The point is Mayank has come to the Indian team after played a lot of domestic cricket and putting in a lot of hardwork. And that shows in his batting. He wants to hold onto this spot. The way he’s making runs, if he keeps going it’ll be great for the Indian team.”
