National Youth Archery Championship begins

DHAKA, Nov 16, 2019 (BSS)- The Teer 3rd National Youth Archery Championship has begun today at archery training center of Ahasan Ullah Master Stadium in the city’s Tongi.

Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) President Lieutenant General (retd.) Mohammad Mainul Islam formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.

Officials of sponsor City group and BAF were also present in the opening ceremony.

On the first day of the championship, Mohammad Tamimul Islam of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP), Sabbir Mollah (Teerondaz Sangsad), Hakim Ahmed Rubul (BKSP) Prodipto Chakma (BKSP) finished first, second, third and fourth positions respectively in the qualification round of recurve junior U-20 boys’ event.

In the qualification round of recurve junior U-20 girls’ event, Mehnaz Akter Monira (Dhaka Army Archery Club), Diya Siddique (BKSP), Moni Rani Sarkar (BAF Tigers Club) and Rabeya Khatun of (Dhaka Army Archery Club) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively.

In the qualification round of recurve cadet U-17 boys event, Prodipto Chakma (BKSP) Abdur Rahman Alif (BKSP), Jannatul Islam (BAF Tigers Club) and Yasin Arafat (Ternondaz Sangsad) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively.

In the qualification round of recurve cadet U-17 girls’ event, Mosammat Eti Khatun (Teerondaz Sangsad), Diya Siddique (BKSP), Uma Singh Marma (BKSP) and Moni Rani Sarkar (BAF Tigers Club) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively.

In the qualification round of recurve youngster U-14 boys’ event, Abdur Rahman Alif (BKSP), Rakib Mia (BKSP), Yasin Araft (Teerondaz Sangsad ) and Mehedi Hasan (Quantum Foundation) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively.

In the qualification round of recurve youngster U-14 girls’ event, Mosammat Eti Khatun (Teerondaz Sangsad), Uma Sing Marma (BKPS), Rojoni Akter (BKSP) and Urmi Khatun (BKSP) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively.

In the qualification round of compound junior U-20 boys’ event, Himu Basar (BKSP), Mohammad Shikuzzaman (BKSP), Radin Bin Taleb (BKSP) and Syam Siddique (Teerondaz Sangsad) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively. In the qualification round of compound junior U-20 girls’ event, Pushpita Jaman (BKSP), Bonna Akter (Bangladesh Ansar), Lamia Islam (Teerondaz Sangsad) and Ritu Akter (Teerondaz Sangsad) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively.

In the qualification round of compound cadet U-17 boys’ event, Himi Basar (BKSP), Siyam Siddique (Teerondaz Sangsad), Radin Bin Taleb (BKSP) and Asif Mahmud Bappi (BKSP) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively.

In the qualification round of compound cadet U-17 girls event, Pushpita Jaman (BKSP), Lamia Islam (Teerondaz Sangsad), Mosammat Humaiya Akter Himu (BKSP) and Jananatul Ferdous (BKSP) finished first, second, third and fourth position respectively.

The championship, organized by BAF, is being held three categories of recurve division and two categories of compound division in the men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed team event.

A total of ten teams including districts, services and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan are competing in the two-day meet. The categories are recurve junior U-20, recurve cadet U-17, recurve young star U-14, compound junior U-20 and compound cadet U-17.
