DHAKA, Nov 16, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent a helper of a bus
that crushed Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) official
Krishna Roy Chowdhury in the capital recently, to jail.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atikul Islam passed the order as Police
Bureau of Investigation (PBI) produced Bacchu Miah before court and pleaded
to keep him behind bars till conclusion of probe in the case.
Bacchu’s lawyer however, pleaded for his bail. The court set tomorrow to
hold hearing on the matter.
PBI arrested the bus helper from Mymensingh on November 15.
A speedy bus of Trust Transport Service ran over Krishna as she was
standing on footpath in Bangla Motor area on August 27. Doctors had to
amputate her left leg in the hospital.
PBI earlier on September 1 arrested Morshed, driver of the bus that ran
over Krishna and found out that he was driving the heavy vehicle with the
license to drive light vehicles.
