World diabetes day observed in Netrakona
NETRAKONA Nov 14, 2019 (BSS)– The World Diabetes day was observed here today
with a call for raising massive awareness about the disease.
Netrakona Diabetic Samity (NDS) observed the day through various programmes
which included bringing out colourful rally and discussion meeting.
As part of the programs, a colourful rally was brought out in the district
town this morning .
Large number of locals from all walks of life joined the rally that started
from Malni road area and ended it in front of the Diabetic hospital,
Islampur after parading different main roads of the town.
A discussion meeting was held at the diabetic hospital where
Deputy Commissioner, Netrakona Main-ul-Islam addressed the meeting as
chief guest. President of the NDS Dr. M A Hamid presided over it.
Chairman of Netrakona Zila Paishad Prasanta Kumar Ray, superintendent of
Police, Netrakona Akbar Ali Munshi, Mayor of Netrakona pourasava Nazrul
Islam Khan and Civil Surgeon Netrakona Dr, Tazul Islam Khan were among others
took part in the discussion .
DC in his speech underlined the need for creating massive awareness among the
people about the preventive methods to keep the people free from the
disease.
