Dhaka, Moscow ink deal to develop Bangladesh’s economy

DHAKA, Nov 14, 2019 (BSS)- Russia will provide all sorts of cooperation to Bangladesh for developing the country’s different sectors, including trade, economy, science and technology.

In this regard, a protocol deal was signed today between the two friendly nations at the closing day of the three-day meeting of the delegations of the two countries at the National Economic Council (NEC) conference room at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city.

Economic Relations Division (ERD) Secretary Monowar Ahmed and Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Ivan V Shestakov inked the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

At the meeting, the delegations of the two countries discussed on various issues, including trade, economy, electricity, energy, nuclear energy, livestock, banking, information technology and education.

At the MoU singing function, Monowar Ahmed said Russia has been providing supports to Bangladesh since the Liberation War in 1971.

“The government is establishing 100 economic zones across the country. Investors from different countries are coming to invest in the zones. In the meeting, we also discussed on Russian support in the economic zones,” he added.
