Bourses register downbeat

DHAKA, Nov 13, 2019 (BSS) – Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange
(DSE) today ended with a downbeat in price and amount of transaction.

The broad index, DSEX closed at 4737.17 points on Wednesday with a loss of
42.01 points or 0.87 percent.

Besides, the two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and the Shariah
index, DSES also went down by 17.26 points and 6.91 points to settle at
1647.05 points and 1087.86 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 124,783 trades were executed
in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 135.19 million
securities.

Losers took a strong lead over the gainers as out of 350 issues traded, 77
securities gained price while 235 declined and 38 remained unchanged.

The top 10 gainers were – Vanguard AML BD Mutual Fund 1, SEML FBSL Growth
Fund, Global Insurance, Prime Life Insurance, Apex Tannery, Sea Pearl Beach
Resort, Vanguard AML Rupali Bank Balanced Fund, Prime Bank First ICB AMCL
Mutual Fund, ICB AMCL First Agrani Bank Mutual Fund and Prime Finance First
Mutual Fund.

Sonarbangla Insurance topped the turnover chart followed by National
Tubes, Renata Limited, Wata Chemical, Khulna Power, Global Insurance,
Standard Ceramics, Shurwid Industries, Rupali Life Insurance and BSCCL.

The top 10 losers were – Al-haj Tex, IT Consultant, Tung Hai Industries,
Dulamia Cotton, BD Welding, BIFC, Imam Button, Standard Ceramics, Coppertech
and Regent Tex.

On the other hand, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)
also jumped to red from the upbeat of the previous days.

CSCX and CASPI went down by 68.62 points and 115 points to stand at
8760.99 points and 14416.68 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 5,757,779 shares and mutual fund of 251 companies were
traded, of which 53 issues advanced while 174 declined and 24 issues remained
unchanged.
