Online casino kingpin Selim Pradhan placed on 7-day fresh remand
DHAKA, Nov 13, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today placed online casino
kingpin Selim Pradhan on a seven-day fresh remand in a graft case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayesh passed the order in
presence of the accused. Earlier on November 3, the court set today to hold
hearing on a plea to take Selim into a 10-day remand in the case.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) deputy director and investigation
officer (IO) of the case Gulshan Anwar Pradhan filed the plea on October 31.
The IO filed the case against Selim on October 27 for amassing illegal
wealth of around Taka 12.27 crore.
RAB arrested Selim from a Bangkok-bound flight at Hazrat Shahjalal
International Airport on September 30. They later raided Selim’s two offices
in Gulshan and Banani.
RAB seized 48 bottles of foreign liquor, Taka 29 lakh, foreign currency
of Taka 77 lakh, 12 passports, one computer server, four laptops and two deer
hides from his offices.
