GAIBANDHA, Nov 12, 2019 (BSS) – The 9th founding anniversary of Union
Digital Centre was celebrated in the district amid much festivity.
Marking the anniversary, Uddokta Forum, Gaibandha Zila, chalked out the
elaborate programmes in cooperation with district administration.
A cake cutting function was also held at the office of deputy
commissioner (DC) here this noon.
DC Abdul Matin formally cut the cake as the chief guest and additional
deputy commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat was present as the special
guest.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Abdul Matin said the union digital centres
(UDC) established by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had been playing
significant role since 2009 and the rural people are getting their digital
related services from there following short time, short cost and short visit.
The DC also asked the entrepreneurs of the UDC to be more serious and
professional in performing their duties to turn the centres into more popular
ones to the people.
A large number of entrepreneurs coming from seven upazilas of the
district and the media men attended the programmes.
