Israel strikes home of Palestinian militant commander in Gaza: army, residents

GAZA CITY, Palestinian Territories, Nov 12, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – Israel’s military struck the home of a commander for Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip early Tuesday, the army and residents said, with the enclave’s health ministry reporting that two people were killed.

“A building in the Gaza Strip, in which the Palestinian Islamic Jihad senior leader Baha Abu Al-Ata stayed in, was attacked,” Israel’s military said in a statement, calling it a joint operation between the army and Israel’s Shin Bet domestic security service.

Residents reported an explosion hit Ata’s home and Gaza’s health ministry said two people were killed. The home was in the Shejayia district in the east of Gaza City.
