Awareness can ensure energy efficiency, conservation: Experts
DHAKA, Nov 11, 2019 (BSS) – Experts from home and abroad at an International Conference on ‘Energy Efficiency Conservation Awareness (EECA)’ today emphasized on creating g awareness among the subscribers aimed at ensuring energy efficiency and conservation.
They said awareness will help reducing consumption of more energy and increasing efficiency and conservation while using their electric appliances.
The two-day International Conference on ‘Energy Efficiency Conservation Awareness (EECA)’ began at Sonargaon Hotel aimed at raising awareness among energy subscribers across the country.
Director General of Power Cell Engineer Mohammad Hossain, head of Indo-German Energy Programme (IGEN) of GIZ India Dr Winfried Damm, Member of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) Salima Jahan and Deputy Chief of Technical Advisor, NEEP, GIZ Newpal Dr Narayan Prasad Chaulagain joined the first session.
Earlier, SREDA Member Siddique Zobair delivered the welcome speech and elaborately described about the conference and said the SREDA is holding the conference with the assistance of Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid will formally inaugurate the conference as the chief guest this afternoon.
A total of eight nations including the host Bangladesh joined the conference.
