Chattogram sea port, airport activities resume
CHATTOGRAM, Nov 10, 2019 (BSS) – The activities at Shah Amanat
International Airport and Chattogram Seaport have resumed as the cyclonic
storm ‘Bulbul’ weakened into a deep depression.
“We have decided to reopen all operations of Chattogram Shah Amanat
International Airport (CSAIA) from 6 am today as the cyclonic storm “Bulbul”
is weakening in the coastal areas of Bangladesh,” Sarwar Zahan, Manager of
CSAIA said.
Earlier, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) suspended all
sorts of operation of Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport from
yesterday due to the severe cyclonic storm Bulbul was approaching the coastal
areas.
Loading and unloading of containers and delivery of consignment from
vessels at inner berth of Chattogram Port reopened at 2 pm today, said Omar
Faruk, Secretary of Chattogram Port Authority (CPA).
Earlier, CPA suspended its all sorts of operation as the Met Office
raised the danger signal no. 6 for the Chattogram port, he added.
