CUMILLA, Nov 10, 2019 (BSS) – Three people including a child were killed
and five others injured as the gas cylinder of a microbus exploded after a
collision with a truck in Gobindapur area under Debidar upazila of the
district this morning.
Among the deceased two were identified as Rajba, 7, daughter of Makbul
Hossain, a resident of Ashoktala area in Cumilla city and Yousuf, son of late
Ayub Ali, hailing from Alekhachar area in Sadar upazila. The identity of
another deceased could not be known.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Maynamoti Highway Police Station Alamgir
Hossain said the gas cylinder of the microbus went off after being hit by a
bus first and then by a truck on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway around 5.30 am,
leaving three of its passengers dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured were sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital. Later, they
were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition
deteriorated, the OC added.
