CHATTOGRAM, Nov 7, 2019 (BSS) – Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) vigilance
team detained a former Chainman of Land Acquisition office in Chattogram
district administration along with bribe money of Tk.7.50 lakh and commission
cheques of TK 91 lakh.
Chainman Nazrul Islam, now land assistant of Fatikchari Land office was
detained from a cloth store of Chattogram Shopping complex this evening.
Nazrul is also the owner of cloth store named Eyana and a food house in the
same shopping complex.
Earlier, Nazrul was instantly transferred to Fatikchari Land office on
February 19, 2017 for alleged involvement with irregularities and corruption
in his previous service station at Chattogram District land Acquisition
office by the Minister of Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury when he visited the
district land acquisition office.
ACC official Ratan Kumar Das who led the drive told newsmen that Taslim
Uddin, the office assistant of Fatikchari land office was also present during
the detention of the Chainman along with Tk.57 thousand found in his pocket.
Taslim was also taken in ACC office for quizzing, he added.
Besides, two employees of the said shop were also brought to ACC office for
quizzing, ACC sources said.
