RAJKOT, Nov 7, 2019 (BSS)-The way the Bangladesh youngsters carry them
and showed a disciplined performance came as a pleasing surprise to many.
Even though the series against India just began, the Bangladeshi youngsters
demonstrated their talent and skill, required to go long way as far as the
International cricket is concerned.

And it’s the area that was most satisfactory for the Bangladesh Cricket
Board (BCB) since they were searching the replacement of the senior players
like Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad.

The BCB did their best to bring up some good young cricketers and it
seemed their strategy worked well if the performance of Mohammad Naim, Afif
Hossain, Aminul Islam Biplob is taken into the consideration.

The trio was the shining spot in Bangladesh’s seven-wicket victory
against India in the first T20 match. Mushfiqur Rahim drove the side home
with an unbeaten 43 ball-60 but the trio dazzled in different parts of the
game to strangle India-either in bowling, fielding or batting. They dazzled
around Mushfiqur to ensure Bangladesh wouldn’t choke in the final moment like
many other occasions against India.

While Mohammad Naim who scored a gritty 26 in the winning-cause of first
match made his debut in the match, Biplob was playing just his second match.
Afif was the senior amongst these three but he only played six T20 matches.

However, it never looked that they are almost new in International
cricket. They looked like completely prepared for absorbing the pressure of
high intense game. And this is where the BCB and its selection panel led by
Minhajul Abedin Nannu can claim their success.

“Selectors can never make all people happy and it’s not our duty indeed,
our duty is to prepare the players and give them enough opportunity so that
they get adequate matches to prove them,” Minhajul Abdein Nannu said here.

“We know we have to prepare good pipeline of players so that we can get
our desirable replacement and prepare them for the International cricket. In
the last three months, players of HP and A team played so many matches like
the national team. We want them to know how to play International cricket.
They faced so many crunch situations in those matches with HP and A team,
which made them experienced about certain situation. And they are now reaping
the rewards.”

“Therefore it didn’t seem that the likes of Aminul, Naim, Afif seemed
didn’t play International cricket much. Their stint with HP and A team keep
them in good stead to play the International cricket.”

Bangladesh T20 captain Mahmudullah Riyad said that the young players
gave the side a strong bench and that’s why they were not worried when some
first choice players were missing in the series.

“See, we have to give opportunities to youngsters so that they can prove
themselves,” Mahmudullah said.

“The three names that I have mentioned have proven that and there are
lot of youngsters who are coming in the pipe-line and hopefully we can all
get together and put a good show”.
