Man awarded death sentence for killing brother-in-law
KUSHTIA, Nov 7, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced a man to capital
punishment for killing his brother-in-law in Mirpur upazila of the district
in 2017.
District and Session Judge Arup Kumar Goswami gave the verdict to Lalon
Gazi, 35, hailed from Chithlia village in the upazila.
According to the prosecution, carpenter Lalon Gazi killed his brother-in-
law Cheni Mollah by a hammer over family feud at Khandorbaria village in the
upazila on March 14 in 2017.
Following the murder, Cheni Mollah’s brother Mani Mollah filed a case.
Police submitted the charge sheet to the court on August 31, 2017.
Testifying witnesses and evidences the court passed the order.
