South Asian Karate competition begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Nov 7, 2019 (BSS)- The 5th South Asian Karate competition begins
tomorrow (Friday) at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the city.

Bangladesh Karate Federation (BKF) president and Anti Corruption Commission
commissioner Dr. Mozammel Haque Khan is expected to inaugurate the two-day
meet as the chief guest, under the supervision of BKF.

A total of 245 player of cadet, junior, U-21 and senior from five countries
— India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and host Bangladesh — will take part in
the meet, organized by South Asian Karate Federation.

Out of the total tournament budget of Taka 16,61,000, the sponsor has given
Taka 4,50,000 to run the meet.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, MP, is expected to be present in the
prize distribution ceremony of the competition as the chief guest and hand
over the prizes while Youth and Sports Secretary Mohammad Akter Hossain will
be present as the special guest on the occasion.

BKF president and Anti Corruption Commission commissioner Dr. Mozammel
Haque Khan will preside over the prize distribution ceremony.

In this regard, a press conference was held at the conference room of
National ports Council (NSC) to provide all the details of the meet.

Haque Khan, NSC Secretary Mohammad Masud Karim, South Asia Karate Federation
general secretary Mowazzem Hossain Sentu, BKV joint secretary Mostafizur
Rahman and film actor Alexgender Boo, among others, were present in the press
conference.
