Bangladesh go down 3-0 to Bahrain in AFC U-19 Championship

DHAKA, Nov 7, 2019 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Under-19 boys’ football team suffered a 0-3 goal defeat to host Bahrain U-19 boys’ football team in their group E opening match of the AFC U-19 Championship-2020 held on Wednesday evening at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Manama, Bahrain.

In the day’s match, forward Abdul Rahman Sayed Mohammed scored a brace while Abdulla Nemer Fanair Tumaish Almesaeed supported him with a lone goal for the winning side.

Abdul Rahman Sayed Mohammed of the winning team was named the most valuable player of the match for his impressive performance on the day.

Bahrain dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory while Bangladesh were totally off-colored on the day and failed to produce any real move.

Bangladesh have been pitted alongside Bahrain, Jordan and Bhutan in the group and they will play their second group match against Jordan on Friday (November 8) before ending the qualifying campaign against South Asian rivals Bhutan on November 10.

Champions of eleven groups and four best runners-up teams will join Uzbekistan in the final round, which will be held from October 16-31 next year.
