‘Bijoy Phul’ competition ends in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA NOV 6, 2019 (BSS) -‘Bijoy Phul’ making competition for the students up to class XII ended at Zila Shilpakala Academy (ZSA) of the town here ended yesterday amid much enthusiasm and festivity.

Apart from it, the competition on story and poem writing, poem recitation, drawing and solo acting and film producing was also held at the same venue while the Cabinet Division supervised the competition, sources said.

The competitions were held in three categories – Group-‘Ka’ up to Class V, Group ‘Kha’ from Class VI to VIII and Group ‘Ga’ from Class IX to XII and both male and female students took part in the competitions.

The objective of the competitions was to create awareness among the new generation about the Liberation War of Bangladesh and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war.

A concluding ceremony organized by district administration was also held at the ZSA on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) M. Abdul Matin addressed the ceremony as the chief guest and district education officer Enayet Hossain and district primary education officer Hossain Ali were present as the special guests.

Additional deputy commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat presided over the ceremony.

The chief guest in his speeches said it is our foremost duty to present the true and real history of the Liberation War before the students for imbuing them with patriotism.

He also asked the students to be attentive in lessons, love the mother land seriously and be worthy citizens of the country in a bid to lead the nation towards desired development.

Later, DC Abdul Matin formally distributed prizes to the winners as the chief guest.

A large number of education officials, students, and teachers including journalists were present on the occasion.
