RAJSHAHI, Nov 5, 2019 (BSS) – Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mayor AHM
Khairuzzaman Liton today urged all to follow the building code properly while
constructing buildings and other establishments.
“Adequate security measures should be taken for construction of buildings
to avert any accident,” he told a seminar here.
Real Estate and Developers Association (REDA), Rajshahi organized the
seminar titled “Building Code for Safe Building and Way Forward” at city
bhaban conference hall. Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and Rajshahi
Development Authority (RDA) jointly supported the programme.
RDA Chairman Anwar Hossain and representatives of different organizations
concerned, among others, addressed the seminar with REDA President Towfiqur
Rahman Lablu in the chair.
Liton urged all the government agencies to enhance their strict vigilance
about overall safety of life and property.
Speakers at the seminar observed that compliance with the building code
can ensure life-saving, built-in-system facilities coupled with sufficient
fire safety and earthquake resistance measures.
They underscored the need for following building code so that all sorts of
casualties and loss of life and assets can be averted.
RDA Chief Executive Officer Rabiul Alam and President of Rajshahi Chamber
of Commerce and Industries Md Muniruzzaman also spoke.
