Export earnings register $12,721m during July-October

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2019 (BSS) – The country’s export earnings were around
US$12,721.22 million during the first four months (July-October) of the
current fiscal year (FY20), according to the latest figure of the Export
Promotion Bureau (EPB).

The EPB figures showed that the single-month export earnings notched
3,073.23 million in October.

The export target for the current fiscal (FY20) is $45,500 million.

According to official data, knitwear continued to fetch the bulk of the
earnings during the July-October period with $5,538.35 million while woven
garments earned $5,039.03 million.

Export of home textiles totaled $239.59 million while leather footwear
exports earned $104.24 million, primary commodities $539.34 million including
frozen and live fish $181.84 million, shrimps $139.98 million and
agricultural products $357.5 million.

Leather and leather products fetched $316.9 million while cotton and
cotton products together earned $53.36 million.
