48th National Cooperative Day observed in Meherpur

DHAKA, Nov 2, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain urged everyone to plant more trees.

“Global warming is a major atmospheric issue all over the world. Now many countries in the world are facing various problems for this reason. Many countries are likely to go underwater if this temperature rising is not stopped.

“So everyone should plant more trees, to reduce the temperature rise,” he made this comments while addressing as a Chief Guest in a discussion on the occasion of 48th National Cooperative Day organized by Meherpur District Administration and Cooperative Department.

He also said, the government has given utmost importance to tree plantation and forestry. He also invited the private organizations and individual person to plant more trees.

Cooperative Society can play an important role in enriching Bangladesh. It makes everyone self-reliant. Those who are financially insolvent can easily benefit financially through cooperative society, Farhad added.

The Deputy Commissioner of Meherpur Ataul Goni presided over the function while Police Super S M Murad Ali was present as special guest.

Besides, Farhad inaugurated the BRTC bus from Mujibnagar to Tungripara for the public movement and relief storage and also laid the foundation stone of the Relief Warehouse and Disaster Management Centre of Meherpur.
