Atiur Rahman appointed as ‘Bangabandhu Chair’ at DU
DHAKA, Oct 31, 2019 (BSS) – Former Bangladesh Bank Governor and Honorary
Professor of Dhaka University (DU) Development Studies Department Dr Atiur
Rahman has been appointed as ‘Bangabandhu Chair’ of the university.
DU Syndicate at a meeting held on October 30, 2019 with Vice-Chancellor
Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair gave him this appointment, said a DU
press release today.
Earlier, a high-level Selection Board recommended him for this
prestigious post.
Prof Dr Atiur Rahman will discharge his duties for a period of one year
as ‘Bangabandhu Chair’ which was established at DU History Department.
