Govt attaches utmost importance to women’s education: Sayeed Khokon
DHAKA, Oct 29, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor
Sayeed Khokon today said the present government puts maximum importance on
promoting women education and empowering them.
“Bangladesh has changed today. Now the presence of women at workplaces is
fifty percent. Holding high position at workplaces, women are working with
men side by side to make contribution in economic and political fields of the
country. As a result, the gap between men and women has been reduced to a
notable extent. All of this is possible because of Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina’s sincere contribution.” he said.
He stated this while addressing a programme on ‘Promoting women’s
education and empowering women at Mohanagar Mohila College in city’s Lakshmi
Bazar area.
With Mohanagar Mohila College Principal Brigadier General Monirul Islam in
the chair, the programme was addressed, among others, by Indian High
Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das as special guest.
