DHAKA, Oct 29, 2019 (BSS)- Chattogram Division pulled off an amazing
victory in the National Cricket League (NCL) Tier-2 when they crushed Sylhet
Division by nine wickets within just two days at Shaheed Kamruzzman Stadium
in Rajshahi on Tuesday.

The first two days were washed out due to relentless rain after which
Chattogram made it a one-way traffic to seal their first victory and in doing
so, topped the NCL Tier-2 point table with 16.42 points.

Pace bowler Irfan Hossain led the way with eight-wicket in the match. His
first class career-best 6-57 firstly bowled Sylhet out for just 163 in the
first innings when weather permitted a game on day three of the match.

Pinak Ghosh then struck an 83 ball-100 with 16 fours and two sixes as
Chattogram declared their first innings on 229-9, taking a 66-runs lead.

Still it appeared that the match would lead to a draw. However, Chattogram
bowlers came up with a remarkable performance. This time left-arm fast bowler
Mehedi Hasan Rana led the way with 5-30, while he was complemented by Irfan’s
2-22, as Sylhet was bowled out for just 109 runs in its second innings,
setting a meager 44-run target for Chattogram to win the game.

Opener Sadiqur Rahman was out on just 8, but Chattogram sweated little to
seal the deal as they reached the target in just 6.4 overs, making 45-1.
Irfan Shukkur struck 16 ball-26 not out with six fours while Pinak Ghosh was
not out on 10.

Irfan Hossain was adjudged man of the match for taking 8-79 in the match
Dhaka Metropolis vs Barishal Division.

Weather finally allowed the another NCL Tier-2 game between Dhaka Metro
and Barishal to begin on the final and fourth day at Shaheed Kamruzzaman
Stadium in Rajshahi and the fate was certain. It ended in a draw but before
that Barishal’s Mohammad Ashraful entertained the crowd with a superb 150-not
out studded by 16 fours.

Thanks to Ashraful’s knock, Barishal declared the innings on 312-5. Dhaka
Metro reached 34-0 before the bails were drawn for the day.

Ashraful was adjudged man of the match for his 150 not out.
