Looted rifle recovered in Faridpur
MADARIPUR, Oct 27, 2019 (BSS) – A rifle, that was looted around four-month ago from Shibchar upazila of the district, recovered from Bhanga upazila in Faridpur district this morning.
Police said a group of dacoits looted the rifle with gold and money from one Masud Chowdhury’s house at Utrail village under Shibchar upazila on June 29 this year.
Masud Chowdhury, owner of the rifle, filed a case next day.
Later, police arrested six dacoits in this connection. On their confessional statement, a team of the police led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar Thana Abul kalam Azad conducted a raid in Dighirpara area under Bhanga upazila this morning and recovered the rifle from a cow shed.
The rifle was handed over to the court. Police, earlier, recovered 11 bhori of looted gold ornaments and Taka 52,000 in cash from the dacoits’ possession.
