NETRAKONA Oct 26, 2019 (BSS) – Community policing day-2019 was observed
here today to involve local people for maintaining law and order situation.
Netrakona district police organized a day long program marking the day.
The day’s program included colorful rally, blood donation, discussion
meeting, charity football match and prize distribution ceremony.
A colorful rally was brought out in the district town this morning from
Netrakona district police office under the auspices of district police.
A large number of local people from all walks of life including members
of community policing committees of the district joined the rally for gearing
up the campaign for stopping the social menaces including drug abuse,
stalking, terrorism, militancy, corruption and child marriage.
As part of the program, a discussion meeting was held at local public
hall.
Habiba Rahman Khan Shefali MP addressed the meeting as the chief guest
with police super Netrakona Akber Ali Munshi in the chair.
The meeting was addressed, among others, by deputy commissioner
Netrakona Main-UL-Islam , mayor of Netrakona pourasava Nazrul Islam Khan,
president of Awami League Netrakona district unit Motiur Rahman Khan and
president of district community policing executive committee Dr. M A Hamid
Khan.
The speakers underlined the need for concerted efforts of all to keep
the society free from crime and corruption including drug abuse, eve teasing,
terrorism, militancy and child marriage.
