Airport customs seized goods at HSIA
DHAKA, Oct 23, 2019 (BSS) – Airport customs today detained three passengers with 900 grams of gold bar, 30 pieces of mobile phone sets, 10,000 pieces of foreign medicines and 832 cartons of foreign cigarettes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here.
The detainees were identified as Mohammad Halim, Mohammad Dalim and Mohammad Kashem.
Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Mohammad Sajjad Hossain confirmed the incident today.
The estimated cost of the seized goods is about tk. 85 lakh, he said.
Earlier, they landed at the terminal by a flight of SV-802, Sajjad added. In primary investigation, detainees confessed their involvement in the incident.
The customs authority has taken legal actions against them as per the law.
