PM to declare MPO enlistment tomorrow: Dipu Moni
DHAKA, Oct 22, 2019 (BSS) -Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will disclose the names of the newly enlisted educational institutions under the monthly pay order (MPO) scheme tomorrow, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said here today.
The Prime Minister will make the announcement at 12 noon tomorrow at her official residence Ganabhaban, the minister said at a press briefing at the International Mother Language Institute (IMLI) at Segunbagicha in city.
Dipu Moni said the MPO scheme will be effective from July this year.
Noting that eligible institutions are being brought under the MPO system, she said the number of new MPO enlisted institutions will be double the number announced in 2010.
A total of 1,624 educational institutions were brought under the MPO scheme in 2010, the minister added.
Urging the teachers and employees of non MPO institutions to withdraw their ongoing agitation, Dipu Moni said no eligible institution will remain out of the MPO scheme.
“From now, qualified institutions will be brought under the MPO system every year,” she added.
Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel and Senior Secretary of Secondary and Higher Secondary Division Md Sohrab Hossain were among those present at the press briefing.
