333 recognized as best citizen engagement project in Asia

DHAKA, Oct 22, 2019 (BSS) – National call centre- “333” has been recognized
as the best citizen engagement project in Asia by the GovInsider, an
international organization that promotes innovation in the public sector.

The recognition was given as any citizen in the country can dial 333 to
know the process of getting government services and solution to address
social problems.

Mohammad Ashraful Amin, 333’s e-Service Specialist and Deputy Secretary,
received the award from the GovInsider at a ceremony held at the United
Nations Conference Centre in Thai capital Bangkok recently, said a press
release today.

333 is a joint initiative of Access to Information (a2i), Robi Axiata
Limited and Genex Infosys.

Starting its journey in April 12, 2018; the call centre has entertained 34
lakh calls, solved more than 12,000 social problems and stopped over 3,000
child marriages across the country with the support from the local
administration.

Besides, the platform has connected the citizens with the local
administration to address many social malpractices across the country.

In addition, the 333 has also received the National ICT award 2019 for
being the champion in sustainable inclusion and community service category
recently.
