2 DU students get Syed Imtiaz Ahmed Scholarship
DHAKA, Oct 21, 2019 (BSS) – Two meritorious students of the Department of
International Relations of Dhaka University (DU) were awarded “Syed Imtiaz
Ahmed Memorial Scholarship” for their outstanding academic results in
Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) examinations.
The recipients of scholarships are – Mansura Emdad and Ishrar Habib.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed
scholarships among the students at a function today at the VC’s lounge of the
university.
DU Treasurer Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while
International Relations department chairperson Prof. Dr. Rashed Uz Zaman,
Prof. Dr. Delwar Hossain, Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman and some other
faculty members were present on this occasion.
Paying tribute to the memories of late Syed Imtiaz Ahmed, Prof
Akhtaruzzaman said Prof Imtiaz was a brilliant student, a dedicated teacher
as well as a good human being.
Prof Syed Imtiaz Ahmed was a Lecturer of DU International Relations
Department. He died on April 01, 2006 at the age of only 33 years.
