My remarks projected partially in media: Menon

DHAKA, Oct 20, 2019 (BSS) – Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon
said his remarks at the council of party’s Barishal district unit were
projected partially in media that created confusion.

“A wrong message has been sent to the national and 14-party alliance
politics centering my remarks at a conference of the party’s Barishal
district unit. Confusion has been created for projecting my remarks
partially,” Menon said in a statement today.

“I want to say clearly that the election is an outcome of the struggle
of 14-party alliance and the government has also been formed through its
struggle. The struggle of the 14-party alliance will have to continue to face
the communalism-fundamentalism,” said Menon.

“While delivering speech on the President’s speech on the 11th
parliament election at the Jatiya Sangsad, I clearly told that the election
was held successfully. But, the experiences were not good”, he said.

Though BNP-Jamaat took part in the elections, they made strategies to
spoil the polls or at least make the elections questionable internationally,
Menon said.

The Workers Party president said that he made a call for upholding the
dignity of the election so that the struggle of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
and other political leaders for establishing the rights of franchises cannot
go in vain.
