One held with 7,795 yaba tablets in Khulna
KHULNA , Oct 19, 2019 (BSS) – Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) arrested a
youth and recovered 7,795 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from his
possession at Nirala residential area in the city yesterday (Friday) evening.
The arrestee was identified as M Ripon Islam, 18, a resident of Moharajpur
Boro Bridge village under Koyra upazila of the district.
On a tip-off, police arrested Ripon while he was suspiciously loitering in
Nirala Dighirpar area along with 7,795 Yaba tablets, said Moniruzzaman Mithu,
additional deputy police commissioner (Media) of KMP.
During primary interrogation Ripon gave confessional statement to the
police that he was involved with illegal drug trading since long.
A case was filed with Khulna Sadar police station in this connection.
