Reputation of Mohiuddin tarnished by successor: Mayor Nasir
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 17, 2019 (BSS)-The reputation of Health Department of
Chattogram City Corporation(CCC) during former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin
Chowdhury’s period was praised throughout the country but this reputation was
tarnished by his immediate successor.
This was disclosed by the incumbent Mayor AJM Nasiruddin at a press meet
arranged at CCC auditorium today.
Mayor Nasir said that he has taken a number of steps for the health
department to sustain and revive the lost reputations of Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
The Mayor also apprised journalists that CCC is providing medicines at a
fair price or free of cost to patients.
He further informed that there are about 15 lakh poor and hapless city
dwellers and for the well being of the poor city dwellers, the outdoor fees
in CCC run General Hospital has been brought down to Tk.10 from Tk.30.
The press meet was arranged by CCC health department on completion of the
four years term of the incumbent mayor.
President of CCC Health Standing committee Councilor Nazmul Haque Duke
presided over the press meet while Panel Mayor Nesar Ahmed Manju, Councilor
Hasan Murad Biplob, Shaibal Das Sumon, Chief Health officer of CCC Dr. Selim
Akhter Chowdhury, and Dr Mohammad Ali, among others, were present at the
meeting.
