BSTI fines Sonon industry Tk 3 lakh
DHAKA, Oct 17, 2019 (BSS) – A mobile court on Wednesday fined Sunon International Industries Company Limited Tk three lakh for illegally manufacturing dragon brand mosquito coils.
The state-run BSTI filed a case against the company for using the logo of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) without authorization for selling and manufacturing coils, said a press release.
During the drive, three persons were sentenced to imprisonment on different terms while BSTI sealed off the factory with a large quantity of mosquito coils with BSTI logo.
Begum Rashida Akter, an executive magistrate, led the mobile court, while Sikandar Mahmud, field officer of the BSTI, was also present.
BSTI mobile court took the action and filed the case against the company under the BSTI Act 2018.
