Two divisional coaches replaced after defying BCB instruction
DHAKA, Oct 17, 2019 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has summoned two divisional coaches for not fielding a leg-spinner in their playing XI in the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL) as the board made the move mandatory for all divisional teams.
Dhaka Division coach Jahangir didn’t obey the rule despite Board’s order to include a leg spinner and even after having Jubair in his squad he did not field him in the opening two games of NCL.
While Jahangir kept Jubair in his squad, Rishad Hossain was not even considered in the 14-member squad of Rangpur Division, in which Masud Parvez Razon is the coach.
The incident was noticed by BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon.
The BCB chief said that the board has summoned the coaches as they failed to field players as per their direction.
”We have summoned the two Divisional coaches for not fielding the two spinners in NCL,” Papon said here on Thursday.
” We have to select our leg spinners for competitive matches in order to see them improve. They have to have opportunities to play in tournament for their improvement. So we are working on it,” he said.
”Even in NCL, I don’t know why it happens. We are talking so much about leg spinners, we have not played Rishad and Likhon yet in NCL,” he said.
”Why they are not in best 11 while they are being selected in the team.”
“We have asked two coaches to explain why they did not field them even after giving them the instruction. They must answer. We have called them. If we don’t let them play, how would they come in,” he said.
Divisional authority said, Dhaka Division coach Mohammad Jahangir Alam has already been replaced by Mohammad Selim while Jafrul Ehsan replaced Masud Parvez Razon as coach for Rangpur.
