International Day for Eradication Poverty observed in Vurangamari
KURIGRAM, Oct 17, 2019 (BSS) – International Day for the Eradication of Poverty was observed in Vurangamari Upazila of the district today.
The theme of the day for this year was ‘Acting together to empower children, their families and communities to end poverty’.
To mark the day a rally and a discussion were held on the premises of Pikerchara Union Parishad this morning.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer SHM Magfurul Hassan Abbasi was present the discussion as chief guest.
Union Parisha Chairman Abdur Razzak chaired the discussion that was spoken, among others, by Upazila Mohila Vice Chairman Shahanara Begum Mira, Rural Development and Poverty Reduction Officer Moklesur Rahman, Abdul Mann and Social Welfare Officer Jamal Uddin.
Around 300 disadvantage people from the seven Union of the Upazila took part the rally.
