MODEL-MOSQUE-CONSTRUCTION
Nine model mosques to be built in Jashore
JASHORE, Oct 17, 2019 (BSS) – Nine model Mosques and Islamic cultural
centers will be constructed in the district at a cost of Taka 115.67 crore.
These model mosques and Islamic cultural centers will be constructed in the
district headquarters and eight upazilas of the district under the supervision of
Public Works Department (PWD).
Under the project, a model mosque and Islamic cultural center will be
constructed at Railgate Jame Mosque area in Jashore district headquarters at a
cost of Taka 14.87 crore.
Besides, Taka 12.50 crore will be spent for building a model mosque in
Monirampur Upazila parishad area.
A total of Taka 12.58 crore has been earmarked for construction of a model
mosque at Keshabpur Upazila Sadar area. The model mosques will be
constructed at Abhaynagar upazila sadar college area and Bagherpara Upazila
sadar Mohiron area.
In addition, Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center construction project
will be implemented at Jhikorgacha Upazila sadar area and Chaugacha Upazila
sadar area.
Also, model mosques will be constructed at Sharsha Upazila sadar area and
Jashore Sadar Upazila.
The tender process for building these mosques at eight upazilas and district
headquarters already has been completed, said Jashore PWD’s Assistant
Engineer Md Tariqul Islam.
The construction works would be completed by 2021 under the financial
assistance provided by Ministry of Religious Affairs, he said.
