3 sent to jail in Barapukuria Coal Mine graft Case

DINAJPUR, Oct 16, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today sent three people to jail and granted bail to 20 others, including six former managing directors of Barapukuria Coal Mine, accused in a case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for stealing coal.

Those sent to jail are: Barapukuria Coal Mine former managing director Engineer Habib Uddin Ahmed, former general manager Abu Taher Mohammad Nuruzzaman Chowdhury and former deputy general manager AKM Khademul Islam.

Dinajpur District and Sessions Judge Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan passed the order when the accused appeared before the court and prayed for their bail, said Prosecutor of Dinajpur Coordinated Office of the ACC Advocate Aminur Rahman.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the court issued arrest warrants against seven former Barapukuria Coal Mine managing directors and 16 others.
